Welcome to our little slice of heaven

The Stripey Pig Lodge is born from a passion for the rugged beauty of North Eastern Tasmania and the refined joy of a farm-to-table feast. Our boutique retreat provides a sanctuary where guests can slow down, reconnect with the land, and indulge in the finest local produce.

Located just a stone's throw from the world class Barnbougle golf facility and the charming seaside village of Bridport, the Lodge serves as a gateway to golf experiences, scenic bushwalks, and award-winning vineyards. Whether you're here to conquer the greens, explore hidden trails, or simply unwind by the fire with a glass of Tasmanian Pinot, we offer an experience tailored to the discerning traveller.

At the Stripey Pig, we believe in the luxury of simplicity and the richness of the land. We invite you to stay, dine, and discover the hidden gems of our island home.

Our 50 acre lot is half covered in native bushland and wildlife abounds.  During your stay you may encounter wallabies, possums, echidnas, wombats and a variety of birdlife.  If you are lucky the local platypus can sometimes be spotted swimming in the dam.

What is a

Stripey Pig?

Whilst most have heard the tale of the Tasmanian Tiger (Thylacine or Thylacinus cynocephalus, shown here), there are also legends of another somewhat related species that once roamed the North East of Tasmania.

Thylacinus porcus, also known as the Stripey Pig.  Some say that, much like its Tasmanian Tiger relative, it is not actually extinct but just waiting to be discovered in the remaining wilds of this part of our beautiful state.
